Pay it Forward Gift Bags
Good news … kindness is spreading!
“Pay it Forward” is an expression that means to repay someone’s kindness toward you by being kind to someone else.
The idea is that you do not hoard the kindness for yourself, or confine it only to a small circle of people. Instead, you spread the goodwill so that as many people as possible benefit. We like the idea of giving something without expecting anything in return. It gives us a warm feeling inside. If enough people buy into the idea, eventually everyone will be a regular recipient of such kindness.
The concept is old, but the particular phrase may have been coined by Lily Hardy Hammond in her 1916 book The Garden of Delight.
We wanted to give something for free in each of our gift bags without asking for anything in return, and if you are buying one of our gift bags as a gift for somebody, you are already Paying it Forward. The chain is easy to continue, as kindness comes in many shapes and forms, so all that we ask is that you pass it on!
